The displays at this years Ring and Lot gathering included more than just models of wagons and trains. We also had displays of Circus wardrobe. The picture to the right is from Chris Grieder's collection and the one below is from the Circus World Museum in Baraboo, Wisconsin. A special thanks goes out to the museum for letting us barrow the items below.
Zellmar Bros. Ring 80 of the Circus Model Builders Inc. was started on October 4th 1981 with its first organizational meeting.
A small group of modelers that displayed at an annual model show at Northtown Mall in Blaine Minnesota started to talk at the fall 1979 show. With some help and guidance from the Karl King Ring in Iowa the small group organized with charter members: Warren Drew, Damon Swanson, Don Johnson, Roy Payne and Ned Kronberg.
On February 7th 1982 a meeting was held to adopt the by laws and set up a formal Ring. In 1987 the now growing ring adopted the Ringling Giraffe Wagon as our Ring Wagon.
Today the ring is doing good with members interested in helping to preserve the Circus. We hold shows several times a year with several railroad groups. Several members also travel to shows in several other states to promote the Circus and also this wonderful hobby.
